Pink Floyd "Syd Barrett" Milk Men's T-Shirt

If this isn't one of the most unique Pink Floyd T Shirts on planet earth, then I must be missing something... to understand the history behind early Pink Floyd, is to see the irony of this tee shirt.

Syd Barrett was fantastic... a psychedelic musical genius that drove himself mad with mind-altering drugs. While some people may consider that a shame, or a waste of life... those of us with more psychological substance see it as a religious sacrifice, for the benefit of all mankind.

Some music is so much more than simply entertainment for a car ride... some music embodies the rebellious nature of man, against the controlling nature of other man... and Pink Floyd had so much to offer in this respect... consolidating the psychic rebellion of drugs, with the physical rebellion of politics... and oddly, not really sounding like either of those things while you listen to it... being even subversive (for good cause), than the subversive they sing about.

When you consider the band in this light, you can see how Syd Barrett may have had a destiny that pushed him to the point of missing... like all of those who are naturally forced to make a large sacrifice, they rarely return back to us the same as they used to be.

I like to think those people have been chosen to play a larger part... and in turn it's not a shame that they have nothing more to offer... since they've already done more than any of us will in our entire life.
