Traffic "Dear Mr Fantasy" Skeleton Men's T-Shirt
I bet you've never seen a uber-unique Traffic 70's rock band t-shirt like this before, we certainly haven't... Steve Windwood and crew were serious musicians, inspired by The Beatles they wrote some of the most timeless tunes that even the most ignorant music listener has heard (and probably loves)!
Traffic was sort of a strange band, Steve Windwood (at only 19 years old!) focused the music on his own organ work and Chis Wood's reed instruments... this was a big departure from the jamming electric guitar dominated bands of the 1970's... so instead of lemming them, Traffic was a decidedly more folk-inspired rock band... illustrated by strongly written song structures and unusual use of instruments.
Traffic had many great albums such as Mr Fantasy (1967)... Traffic (1968)... John Barleycorn Must Die (1970)... and Shoot out at The Fantasy Factory (1973)... to name a few... and on top of that they had some incredibly classic rock songs like now rock standard "Feelin' Alright" (which was covered by Joe Cocker)... the groovy "Forty Thousand Headmen"... and of course the ultra-classic "Dear Mr Fantasy"... which this shirt is completely enamored with.
Steve Windwood eventually went on to play with Cream's Eric Clapton and Ginger Baker in the short-lived rock supergropup... Blind Faith. While the band's guitarist... Dave Mason... is noted for playing acoustic guitar on Jimi Hendrix legendary version of Bob Dylan's "All Along The Watchtower"... not too shabby... since he's also well know to have played with The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton and Fleetwood Mac.
So we thinks this Dear Mr. Fantasy skeleton t-shirt is truly something special... capturing the very obscure cult essence of this fantastic 70's rock song... you should get one... if only to convey this friendly message to the next guitar jam band you go see live!
Dear Mr Fantasy, Play us a Tune... something to make us all happy!
