Elvis Presley "TCB" Rockabilly T-Shirt Hay now bebe, how bout 'cha go make meea pna'butter 'nnn 'nana san'ich... Elvis freakin' rules man!
We love The King, this Tupelo rockabilly had cool man... mad, mad, MAD COOL! That's why we're bringing you this snake and lighting bolt t-shirt via The Skull King... it's all Jailhouse Rock baby!!
Elvis is the only person who could have pulled off a career like his... with all the glamor and the guts and the glory... all the while he kept his rock'n'roll vibe intact... particularly with the TCB crew... Taking Care of Business... damn straight!
All these years later and that symbol and the crew behind it just rocks... full-on hellbilly style... that era was just way too cool... even those gun grips are true custom... made with the TCB symbol on them (yeah, those guns on the shirt aren't fake... that's the real deal!!)
Man, if you ever saw pictures of the TCB den in Elvis house... that was the gang room... it was a wicked sunken-floor art-deco pad... leather couches built into the wall... stupid-deep shag carpets... and a big black panther statue sitting on the coffee table ( 70's Sex Panther )!!
Elvis brought us an unusual mix of country music mixed with rhythm and blues... kicking it hard with a thick backbeat... rock and roll style... he just swooped in and invented rockabilly in a heartbeat... nailed it so tight... even your children will sleep with his name in their heads... no foolin!
That's the likely reason many bands held The Presley in such high regard... going way back we're talking about Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis... and in a more modern sense we got Josh Homme from Queens of The Stone Age, Elvis Costello and The Man in Black Johnny Cash. Hell, I'll even bet Bruce Springsteen and Ronnie Van Zandt had a little Elvis in them!
To sum that thought up, here's John Lennon's comment about Elvis and the state of music in the 50's:
"Before Elvis, there was nothing."
So now that you been schooled in the ways of the rhinestone cowboy... it should be no surprise that we idolize Elvis and that's why we have The King t-shirt in snakes and skull-mode... it's far from derogatory my friend... it's more like legendary infamy... modern legacy... keeping The King alive... because The King lives!!
I'll leave you with a classic quote from the notoriously well-spoken Bob Dylan: "When I first heard Elvis voice, I just knew that I wasn't going to work for anybody; and nobody was going to be my boss. Hearing him for the first time was like busting out of jail."
TCB baby... T.C.B.!!
