Members Matt Pike, Al Cisneros, and Chris Hikaus all have become legends in the Stoner Rock scene... both for their mastery of the Sabbath sound in Sleep, and their bands post-Sleep (High On Fire, The Sabians, OM)... we can't describe how much this band exemplifies what Heavy Metal music is all about... but trust us when we say, you can't imagine what they sound like... you just have to listen for yourself... the band only released 3 albums over their 10 year existence, but they remain one of the colossal monuments to All That Is Heavy.

The album 'Holy Mountain' was inspired by Alejandro Jodorowsky's film by the same name... a 70's psychedelic mind warp that will give you the FreakOut the first time you watch it... like the band, we won't even try to describe this epic cult film... we'll just say it's very visual, very drug-induced, and very cult classic... necessary viewing for anyone who digs the experimental artistic side of film, music and imagination... it's no wonder the band was smitten with it, even the name speaks volumes... as does the bands moniker... SLEEP!
