Robert DeNiro has always been one of our favorite actors around here... but it was his role as Travis Bickle in the cult Martin Scorsese film "Taxi Driver" that enamored us for life... whether you view him as a vigilante gone mad, or an idiot savant... DeNiro's Bickle was the voice of PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) after the Vietnam War.

Had our mohawked mad-man 'gotten organized'... he could have vacated NYC of the scum that he so loathed... and his obsession with a young Jodie Foster (who disturbingly plays a 12 year old prostitute in the film), shows a man bent on fixing the world... one Harvey Keitel pimp at a time!

"Are you looking at me?"... by far, the most popular line from this classic... and the exact reason we chose to avoid it, and instead look deeper into a movie that's got so many layers of reality piled on... that after all these years, people should be appreciating more than just the obvious shiny surface.
