This is a serious mindwarp from psychedelic director David Cronenberg (Scanners, eXistenZ, Naked Lunch, A History of Violence, Dead Ringers, The Fly, The Dead Zone)... and like all of Cronebergs films, the social commentary is thick... but the message is conveyed through a spiralling series of mind-bending concepts and visual queues.

"Kill Your TV" couldn't be more a more relevant statement... as the story unfolds to find a pirate TV Station broadcasting extreme violence and torture, obscure underground snuff films... things quickly degrade into a blurred reality as our anti-hero (James Woods) descends into the madness of all the sex, death, and chaos presented on TV these days.

Videodrome acts as an eerie reminder of just how bad it may get, and close we actually are to it already... Television networks don't care about their faceless customers... they only care about the bottom line, at all costs... and with that said, you may begin to understand the message "Long Live the New Flesh!!"
