Though many may not recognize his name, just as many will never forget this wise man's incredibly calming voice and sage insight. One of the greatest seekers of life, Alan Watt was a hippie philosopher who spent his entire existence exploring the depths of religious consciousness on planet Earth.
Whenever someone uses the word "Zen", my mind instantly begins to catalog the many Alan Watts quotes (or I should say moments), where he deftly illustrates the means and motivations of the God complex, buried in the deep recesses of the human condition.
More than once have I been surprisingly enamored by an enlightening late-night revelation, while listening to the many books of the British monk, Alan Watts... he is one of the few, like Terrence McKenna, who always brings food for thought to every conversation... as with McKenna, you don't have to believe it, but you should ponder it... an open mind solves every problem in the world.
If you truly want to understand the meaning of God, from the perspective of every religion (not just those with bias for their own)... you need to spend time with "The Real You"... for that is, "The Way of Zen"... Alan Watts is a kind man, man. ;)
This is why I love this guy:
